”Caring, kindness, and diligence paid to pets and their people.” Ask any Weruva team member what Weruva stands for, and they will instantly quote this line. It is how we do business, it is how we treat our family, and it is how we strive to treat all, human or animal.
A while back David and Stacie Forman, the founders and owners of Weruva, challenged us to give even more meals to pets. They said “let’s fill as many bowls as possible of cats and dogs in need with Weruva meals!” So we’re doing just that.
In February we worked with over 150 rescue groups along the east coast to donate a total of 229,500 meals to pets in shelters, with foster parents, and newly adopted pets.
In March and April, we created a donation drive for those affected by COVID-19. For those in the pet industry who may have had hours cut back or lost their jobs we did our best to support them with healthy meals for their pets so they wouldn’t have to worry about that expense. We also used our community to find those at high risk who shouldn’t be in close proximity to others, and provided meals for their pets as well. In total, we were able to send out 10,000 meals to those affected by current affairs.
In May, we partnered with Benson’s Pet Centers in Upstate NY to help individuals that have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. We provided Benson’s with 51,000 Weruva meals to hand out to anyone that was in need during these challenging times.
In June, we teamed up with Sterling “TrapKing” Davis to help the cats in Atlanta, GA. We sent him 45,000 meals to distribute to the feral colonies and groups in his area. These meals will help him continue to show the youth in Atlanta, that “you don’t lose cool points for compassion!”
What are we doing today? Currently a nationwide Weruva Feline Food Drive is happening with participating retailers. We’re donating a meal to a cat in need for every Weruva purchase made! Check with your local Weruva retailer to see if they are participating.
