Going Green with Weruva: Join Our WeRuCycle Program!

At Weruva, our passion for pets matches our commitment to the environment. We started our recycling efforts in 2018 then redesigned the program in 2022 and officially launched “WeRuCycle”. Our mission? To decrease the number of Weruva pouches and cups being thrown into the garbage and increase how many are recycled and repurposed. Helping reduce the 99%, or 300 million lbs, of pet food packaging that currently becomes environmental waste yearly.

By decreasing the amount of Weruva packaging that is disposed of improperly, we are working towards a more sustainable future. We are committed to finding innovative solutions to minimize our environmental footprint and promote responsible waste management practices in the pet industry. Why WeRuCycle?

In a world increasingly aware of its ecological footprint, Weruva wants to lead by example. Waste reduction is something that we should all be mindful of. We understand the concerns about the environmental impact of packaging materials, especially concerning the pet food industry.

That's why we've launched WeRuCycle, Weruva's recycling program designed to make repurposing our pouches and cups simple and effective. Through these efforts, we aim to mitigate the environmental impact of our packaging materials and take a proactive step towards a greener planet.

Here's How it Works

You've just treated your furry friend to a delicious Weruva meal; here's what to do next.

• Rinse and Dry: Once your pet has enjoyed its meal, use soap and water to rinse any leftover material from the pouch or cup. You must wash all packaging, or it can not be accepted. Dry each item thoroughly before packing it up for shipping.
• Ship Back to Us: Pack up the empty containers after cleaning—there is no need to wait for any special materials from us to ship packages back. To maximize your contribution to the environment, try reusing the box your Weruva products came in to return your empty pouches and cups. Then just tape it shut and send it our way!
• Recycle and Repeat: Once we receive your package, we'll ensure it gets to our dedicated recycling center for processing. Once the packaging has been processed at our recycling facility, your pouches and cups go on to become things like park benches, children’s playground equipment, plastic palettes, and more!

Remember, you don't need to send us cans because you can recycle them directly through your municipal recycling program.
