Back in February, we promised that for every like, share, and comment on our Valentine’s Day post, we’d donate three meals to PuppyKittyNYC. You showed up in a big way. Together, our social media audience generated 11,232 interactions, which meant a whopping 33,696 meals for cats in need.
We delivered those meals to PuppyKittyNYC in April, and the impact was immediate. Shelters like PuppyKittyNYC work tirelessly to care for vulnerable animals, and food is always one of the biggest needs. Seeing cats dig into their Weruva meals was the perfect reminder that every click really did count. When we saw how much joy and relief it brought, we knew we couldn’t stop there.
So, we kept the love flowing.
- In July, we donated 3,000 more meals, with help from our friends at Generation Pet
- In August, another 14,880 meals!
Each round of giving reminded us why we started this campaign in the first place. A small act of kindness can turn into something much bigger when people come together.
Thanks to you, our Valentine’s pledge grew into an ongoing commitment. To date, we’ve donated 51,576 meals to PuppyKittyNYC, and we’re not done yet. Because no cat should have to go hungry, and no shelter should feel alone in the fight to care for them.
About PuppyKittyNYC
PuppyKittyNYC is a non-profit rescue based in Queens, NY that takes in cats and dogs from all walks of life. They provide medical care, safe shelter, and a second chance for animals who might otherwise be overlooked.
Recently, with the help of our donations - they have become a food pantry for the community’s colony feeders, smaller rescues, TNR programs and many single caretakers. With a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, including veterinarians and vet techs, PuppyKittyNYC is on the ground every day making sure pets get the love and care they deserve.
Thank You
Thanks to you, this simple Valentine’s campaign grew into something much bigger. Here’s to saving lives one bowl at a time, and proving that love doesn’t just come once a year. Your help is seen every Tuesday morning, when Weruva’s social gal volunteers at the PuppyKittyNYC shelter!
