Did you know 300 millions pounds of pet food packaging ends up in landfills or oceans every year? Our WeRuCycle program gives used packaging a second life by turning it into useful products.
If you're already feeding your pets Weruva, you're just one step away from making a difference. But not all packaging is accepted through the program. Read on to find out what you can send in, what you can’t, and how to prep your packaging the right way.
Items You Can WeRuCycle
Pouches
All pouches are recyclable through our program. Just be sure they’re clean and completely dry before mailing them in.
Weruva's Lickable Treats
The tubes from our lickable treats are accepted since they are made from the same materials as our pouches.
Freeze Dried Bags
Packaging from our freeze dried products is fully recyclable, making every meal a little more sustainable.
Cups and Lids
Even cups and their lids can be recycled through the WeRuCycle program.
While we’re working towards more recyclable options, some items are not yet part of the program:
Items You Can't WeRuCycle
Cans
Aluminum cans aren't part of WeRuCycle, but most can be recycled through your local curbside program. Check your local guidelines.
Cardboard
Although recyclable, cardboard isn't collected through WeRuCycle. Please continue recycling it at home.
Litter Bags
Our litter bags can’t be recycled through the program, but they’re still handy for scooping and safe disposal.
Cat Person Treats
Cat Person treats bags are not accepted, but stay tuned. We’re always looking for ways to expand our program.
How WeRuCycle Works
Before mailing, rinse and dry your Weruva pouches, cups, or bags to remove any leftover food. Wet or dirty items cannot be accepted.
Mail your clean, empty packaging to: 17 Mercer Road, Natick, MA 01760.
Once collected, Weruva’s packaging is transformed into useful products like plastic pallets, rubber bumpers, benches, and more.
